What are Beetles?
Beetles are little insects with hardened wing casings that separate them from other insects. Beetles often range in size from 1/8 inch to 1 inch in length. Beetles feed on a variety of materials, including organic materials such as wood, leaves, and wool, food products such as grain, and even human byproducts like hair and perspiration.
Type of Beetles
Weevils are the most common beetle found around the world with over 100,000 different species.
Risks associated with Beetles
Allergic Reactions
Most of the beetles cause allergic reactions to the human body. If you have carpet beetles, people in your household may complain of itchy rashes from bites or irritated eyes and throats.Â
Carpet Beetles eat and Destroy Fabrics
Most Carpet beetle damage occurs when their larvae use your home as a buffet, potentially bedding causing severe damage to the bedding, clothes, carpets, and upholstered furniture.Â
Beetles Love your Food
Drugstore beetles live inside stored foods and pantry items with unsecured containers. They love kitchens, where they can find spilled food and crumbs.Â
